Tripod:

I would have to say in my experiences that the tripod is probably the most important piece of equipment when it comes to Night Photography. If your serious about taking night photos DON'T CHEAP OUT. Buy a good one I use a Bogen / Manfrotto 3001BPRO Legs with a 3030 Head. This thing is great super stable, built in bubble level and you can adjust it any

Flashlight:

You never know where the night will take you and having a good flashlight to get you back helps. It also helps you set up your shot, add light to your subject or find all your equipment before you leave your location.

Flash:

I use a Vivitar 636AF flash that I got off of ebay for around 15 dollars. Because I got it so cheap I modified it to accept a homemade battery pack to help it cycle faster and flash brighter so far so good. Use the flash to flood your Night Photos with light.

 Film:

I use a variety of Films. For Night Photography the use of a (Tungsten Balanced

Film) is required. Other wise long exposures look like daylight. Another trick is to use

a Daylight film with a color correction filter like a 80B.Its best to experiment and find

a film that suits you and your needs.

For Color:

Kodak Ektachome 64T: This an excellent film for Night Photography with an ISO 64 it has

very good color, sharpness and fine grain.

Kodak Ektachome 160T: Also a great film for Night Photos the grain is not as fine as the 64T

I would recommend using 160T the further you get from light pollution. Because of the faster

       ISO.

Kodak Elite Chrome 160T: Not Good For the night. Poor grain and color reproduction. Stick

to Kodak's Pro line of films.

Fuji Sensia: This is a Daylight film but when you add a color correction filter this film becomes

an excellent night film. Super fine grain and great color reproduction. Also not that expensive

this is not a professional film so the cost is low.

For Black & White:

Kodak T-Max: I guess this is one of the staples of Black & White Photography. Good grain

and great detail. Can be use at all times of the Day or Night.

Kodak Plus-X 125: A good film it has a little more grain than T-Max.
